
The British company Post Office Travel Money has published the results of its traditional City Costs Barometer study, which names the cheapest European cities for a short autumn break, according to the portal Country Living.
The company's experts compared the cost of placement A two-night stay in a double room from October 5th to 7th at three-star hotels in 36 cities across Europe. The trip budget includes a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, a three-course dinner, public transportation, museum entrance tickets, and a city bus tour.
Belgrade was the cheapest option for an autumn vacation. The total cost of the trip was €165.62 (approximately 13,038 rubles). Dinner with a bottle of house wine in Belgrade was also the cheapest – €37.86 for two (approximately 2,972 rubles). Admission to the city's main attraction, the Church of Saint Sava, was €3.34 per person (approximately 263 rubles).
Krakow ranked second on the list of most affordable destinations, with a budget of €188.47 (approximately 14,828 rubles). Incidentally, this Polish city was previously recognized as the cheapest option for late spring travel.
Vilnius rounds out the top three. A weekend in the Lithuanian capital will cost a couple €188.86 (approximately 14,859 rubles).
The top ten most economical destinations also included Bucharest (€194.85), Warsaw (€197.09), Riga (€203.02), Porto (€204.65), Athens (€222.25), and Bratislava (€225.61).
The Russian capital rounds out the top 10. A weekend trip to Moscow will cost €229.83 (approximately 18,083 rubles). The most expensive cities for autumn breaks were Amsterdam, Oslo, and Reykjavik. A couple of days there will cost over €500 (approximately 39,340 rubles).
