
Portuguese authorities have simplified the Schengen visa application process for Russians, Interfax reports.
The Portuguese Embassy now issues annual multiple-entry visas to Russian citizens. Previously, Russians could only obtain a six-month Schengen visa or a visa for only one entry. travel dates. These visa easing measures came into effect on April 1.
According to tour operators, application processing times will change. Previously, it took at least a week, but now it takes just three days. Tourists will also be given the opportunity to cancel existing visas that are no longer suitable for their travel dates and apply for a new visa in advance. Furthermore, individual tourists will no longer be required to provide vouchers from each hotel along their itinerary. Also, when applying for a visa, they will no longer need to present a valid airline ticket; confirmation of its reservation will be sufficient.
