Its name accurately reflects its appearance\u2014&quot;Black Rock.&quot; The large Marukh Glacier, the source of the Marukha River in Karachay-Cherkessia, lies near its steep, dark northern walls. There are several peaks named Karakaya in the Caucasus, but this one is the highest and most beautiful. I suggest you look at 14 beautiful photographs from different angles and in different lighting conditions.<\/p>\n<p>A view from the crest of Mount Sofia, from afar. All climate zones: pine forest, alpine meadows, moraines, glaciers, and snowfields.
