As reported by the Independent, British low-cost airline EasyJet has released the album Jet Sound, which lasts Ten hours of recordings included the hum of an airplane engine during a flight from London to Nice. According to scientists, the "white noise" of an airplane is supposed to help people fall asleep. Research has shown that such a monotonous recording allows the human brain to block interruptions to sleep; the noise muffles sounds such as snoring, dog barking, and similar sounds that can wake a person. <\/p>\n
Furthermore, the "song" can be useful for calming children and helping people focus while studying. According to British experts specializing in children's sleep, Jet Sound is a fantastic and fun idea that will help you get the best night's sleep possible.<\/p>\n
The album is available on iTunes for 99 rubles. The unusual song is also available for free streaming on the airline's official YouTube channel. The engine sound is also available for download on Amazon and Google Play. EasyJet representatives have pledged to donate all proceeds to The Children's Sleep Charity. <\/p>\n
Interestingly, a fifth of all people worldwide suffer from insomnia. However, according to statistics, only 18.3% passengers actually sleep on the plane. Almost the same number prefer to while away the time in flight by reading. Slightly more than 18.% people spend the entire flight with headphones on, 11.1% of whom listen to music and 7.4% watch movies. The rest either stare out the window or eat something. It's worth noting that 27.% were unable to definitively answer the question of what they do during the flight.<\/p>\n
