Jellyfish will soon appear on the menus of Italian seafood restaurants. Visitors will be able to try pan-fried or marinated jellyfish. Previously, jellyfish dishes were available to tourists mainly in Asian countries.<\/p>\n

Jellyfish are rich in mineral salts, proteins and collagen, and are low in calories.<\/p>\n

As Italy in Russian reports, the Italian Center for Fisheries Research (CIRSPE) is currently developing a document that will collect information on the types of jellyfish that can be prepared and consumed without risk to health.<\/p>\n

It is believed that the jellyfish they will eat are Rhizostoma pulmo, a species abundant in the Adriatic Sea. They reach 60 centimeters in diameter and weigh up to 10 kilograms.<\/p>\n
