\nThe third and final section of Bulgarian landscapes covers a broader geography. We'll look at Bulgaria from the heights of the Shipka Pass, stroll through vineyards and fields near the town of Chernomorets, and stand on a high cliff near the town of Veliko Tarnovo.<\/p>\n

How can I summarize my Bulgarian entries? We saw the coastal, flat, and mountainous parts of the country. I've already written about visiting the cities separately.
\nThat's all I wanted to tell you about my first visit to Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

First, a mountain theme. Shipka Pass. As the saying goes, the only thing better than mountains is mountains.
\nA stone wall protects you from falling off the cliff edge. Nature protects you.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Flowers and the Balkan Mountains.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

The Balkan Mountains disappear into infinity.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Cloudy weather has its own beauty.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

The Bulgarian plantations are about a kilometre below.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

And now we're near the coastal town of Chernomorets. If you venture further inland, you'll find yourself in a truly lovely landscape. Numerous vineyards surround the area, surrounded by small mountains.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Looks like there are still some left over from the people's government.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

The grapes are not ripe yet, so the pictures are without bunches.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Field. Bulgarian field.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Wheat fields surround the vineyards shown earlier.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I decided to hike up one of the mountains. I came across a small nature reserve. I tried to walk through it and find the way up.
\nI found a small lake at the foot of that very mountain.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

The road through the nature reserve. It's a good thing there was no one there. Otherwise, I might have been facing a fine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

I couldn't find the way up. Eventually, I came out the other side and found myself back in the field.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

This time the field is surrounded by hills and mountains.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

It was along this gypsy road that I reached the people.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mountains again. Republic Pass. The road runs along the bottom of this gorge, and that's where I found myself.<\/p>\n

Photographs don't always convey the differences in altitude in the mountains. But here it's clearly visible.<\/p>\n

And a little mountain lavender for the scent.<\/p>\n
