\nSo, those who hadn't fallen asleep from exhaustion mustered their last strength and set out on the final trek to the lava lake. The guide was also exhausted, so he sent us on our own. We descended the wall of the large outer crater and, using headlamps to light the way, walked straight across the crunchy lava toward the lake. There was no longer any path here. Fifteen minutes and we were there.<\/p>\n
