This region is home to Namibia&#039;s highest mountain.<\/p>\n<p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/8e889371a277385ff4af4c4dca4cf594.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In Damaraland, at the foot of a mountain range, rock paintings left by the Bushmen, who lived here in prehistoric times, have been preserved on sun-baked red rocks. These are mostly depictions of animals: elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and a few others encountered by ancient people. They were carved into slabs with sharp stones and are well preserved.
