Chiang Mai currently has around 38,000 hotel rooms to offer.

Speaking about the country's general tourism trends, the speaker noted that Thailand accepted the 35 million tourists, and industry revenues approached US$53 billion (1.81 trillion baht).

"This is truly a remarkable achievement that all members of Thailand's tourism industry can be proud of," he said.

By the way, for 2018, TAT set a target growth rate of tourism revenues of eight percent, and only due to foreign guests.

The most popular destinations last year were Bangkok, Phuket, Chonburi, Krabi and Surat Thani.

According to Tanesa Pishuuvan new marketing plan TAT for 2018 year was developed using a unique economic philosophy to promote inclusive tourism based on local experiences in the country's provinces.

“We believe that this is what will allow Thailand to gain new fans among foreign tourists. TAT will also focus on niche segments, including wedding tours, special opportunities for ladies’ holidays, and continue to create the image of an elite and luxury tourist destination. We will focus on gastronomic tourism at a higher level, as it is one of the tools for developing the country’s economy. Incidentally, the Thai government recently approved a series of tax cuts for 55 provinces. This campaign is aimed at increasing the number of tourists in second-tier provinces to 10 million visitors per year and generating revenue of at least US$311.42 million (10 billion baht). The new schemes include tax incentives for MICE in target areas, the event sector,” the speaker said.

Speaking about new opportunities in the coming year, He said the country's international airports will serve 135 scheduled and charter flights. In addition, low-cost airlines from Vietnam, China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong will increase their frequencies to Bangkok this year, as well as other popular tourist destinations including Phuket and Chiang Mai.

The state has big plans for the development of rail transport across the country, which, according to experts, will become very popular among foreign guests.

Source: trn-news.ru

On the eve, January 24, during the largest Asian tourism exhibition ATF-2018, Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, Deputy Governor of the TAT for Marketing Communications, said

[1
24,45
post-38005","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-novosti","tag-ssha","tag-tailand
