In humans, it causes the disease of the same name, characterized by rash, fatigue, headache, joint pain, fever, and joint swelling. Clinical manifestations are similar to those of dengue and chikungunya fever, and rubella, measles, leptospirosis, and rickettsial diseases also have similar symptoms. A definitive diagnosis is made based on laboratory tests.
