I understand that the Egyptian side is ready to sign it, otherwise [the discussion] would not have resumed,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>\nEarlier, Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov stated that regular air travel between Moscow and Cairo could begin in mid-February.<\/p>\n<p>On January 4, 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree resuming regular air travel to Cairo.<\/p>\n<p>\nRussia suspended air travel to Egypt in the fall of 2015 following the crash of a Kogalymavia plane over Sinai, flying from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. There were 217 Russian tourists and seven crew members on board, all of whom died.
