Vietnam Airlines is considering resuming flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Moscow. Flights could begin at the end of the year, with a twice-weekly frequency, according to Travel.ru.<\/p>\n
"We're working hard to resume flights on this route," said Le Thanh Dung, Vietnam Airlines' general representative in Russia. "We're also exploring charter flight options and exploring opportunities on other routes." <\/p>\n
Before the economic crisis in Russia, Vietnam Airlines flew from Hoi Minh City to Moscow up to four times a week\u2014even more frequently than from Hanoi. Several years ago, the company also considered flying to Moscow from Nha Trang. <\/p>\n
As a reminder, Vietnam Airlines will deploy a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the Hanoi-Moscow route starting March 27. It will replace the Airbus A330.<\/p>\n
The flight schedule remains the same: three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Departure from Hanoi is at 10:25 AM, arriving in Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) at 5:00 PM. The return flight departs at 7:00 PM, arriving in Hanoi the following day at 7:55 AM.<\/p>\n
The aircraft upgrade will provide a slight increase in capacity. Economy class will have 283 seats instead of 256, and business class will have 28 instead of 24. Furthermore, the Boeing 787 features a more modern and comfortable cabin.<\/p>\n
