The grand opening of the museum of the family of the last Russian emperor, Nicholas II, took place in Tobolsk (Tyumen Oblast). The museum, whose exhibits were collected over many years, is located in the Governor's House, where the Romanov imperial family lived in exile.<\/p>\n

According to Interfax, museum visitors will be able to see unique items and documents related to the family of Nicholas II. Among the most valuable exhibits are a family photo album with amateur photographs from the period of exile in Tobolsk (August 1917 to April 1918), the empress's silk shawl, a Gospel with her stamp and signature, and a plaque (a decorative polygonal medal) made of mammoth ivory with the Tsarevich's autograph. Some exhibits, such as porcelain Easter eggs from 1912 bearing the monograms of Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna, were loaned from Moscow museums.<\/p>\n

Descendants of the royal family were present at the opening of the museum.<\/p>\n
