The summit of Tikhtengen (4,617 m) is revealed:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/a1116aceb52e11f2e11775cc5c528d2a.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As we approach, the snow has already melted in the valleys, but the high mountains are still quite wintry.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fd45d6552e4482190130917bc56db307.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>By the end of April, spring is already upon us in the Dzhungusu Valley. The altitude is only 1,300 meters. However, it&#039;s worth noting that for every vertical kilometer, the temperature drops by 6-7 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/3b76ab09a277c5d8d535cf3734997759.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Mount Karakaya (3646 m) in the Rocky Ridge has emerged from behind the forested ridge:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/dc3b5e94e191a999f44884a6550562a6.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As we gain altitude, the giant Karakai rises from behind the ridges:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/eeff8b35dab4ae4e00b81294e715b008.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Lha summit (2773 m) at sunset. The snow was much smoother than the rocks. With shovels, you could dig a perfectly flat clearing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fa7dd1f38e90a2ce3f8ef8d2da057eff.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Mount Kestanty is one of the most wonderful places in Kabardino-Balkaria! You can see the turrets at the top. From a distance, it&#039;s uninteresting. But when you get closer... Ahead lies the volcanic mountain of Kestanty:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/f2bafa279ced45f41e432748da0d8c01.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Another photo at the Dzhilgi Pass. The pebbles are beautifully scattered. The landscape is Martian, only with snow.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/55a86e36fa7f6bf31efb645cb91085bd.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>And now we&#039;re almost at Mount Kestanta. Those very same towers rise up in the form of various &quot;mushrooms&quot; and figures:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2c4b4f80a4e3511170267411937065b5.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>At an altitude of almost 3,800 m, you can walk along the flat plateau of Mount Kestanty among interesting formations:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/91fbae680178aea26ea75cee943736fe.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/87dd589f320ecf62dcf3ebd5366b6191.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Camel?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1d73812cecf03c793d9e6190ac38edf5.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A mushroom, a camel, and a barrel. Although everyone sees it differently, I guess.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6d40deeb49507b52533a62eabfda76dc.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The &quot;Mountain Guardian&quot; looks to the left into the gorge, to the right is a heavy figure (a troll?), and even further to the right is something like the hand of a giant:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/4bd8d40ad8495315892b69166596356b.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Almost the entire route to the next pass, Narzanny, is visible.
