\nDubai was a nice bonus on my trip to Brazil\u2014Emirates offered a roundtrip connection (the return flight included an overnight hotel stay and a visa, which was great). But I didn't like Dubai at all (I don't understand people who pay money to go there, and then again).<\/p>\n

The timing of the trip was, of course, perfect\u2014during the holy month of Ramadan and with a real +55 degrees outside :))<\/p>\n

After waking up at the hotel, I took a sightseeing tour of the city. It\u2019s convenient\u2014it\u2019s hard to see a big city without a car.<\/p>\n

Until the mid-20th century, Dubai was essentially a "village." Residents were engaged in pearl diving, and when Japan discovered artificial pearls, the country plunged into crisis. However, then oil was discovered and...<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

Dubai is a city of roads and continuous construction.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

People live here, traveling from room to room, from car to train, etc. - without air conditioning it is almost impossible<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

It was +55 degrees in the summer... it's like a Finnish sauna, but everywhere :))<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

The metro is very nice and you can get into the city using it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

Overall, the city looks like Disneyland\u2014it seems to be there, but everything is artificial, not alive.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

There are no people on the streets, and almost no plants either.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

There's almost nothing to see - there used to be a village, but now there are only hotels and shopping centers.<\/p>\n

Every second hotel is \u201cthe most expensive\u201d, \u201cthe largest\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

On the other side of the Persian Gulf is the absolutely real eastern and noisy Iran.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
