In 1962, a museum and art gallery opened in Hong Kong City Hall to preserve the region's cultural heritage as much as possible. And in 1991, the museum was moved closer to the Cultural Center. Hong Kong's largest and best art museum finally has its own building, and its name is now The Hong Kong Museum of Art.<\/p>\n

The museum has 6 halls on three floors. It houses a unique collection of antiquities and modern art, works of art by Chinese masters and old photographs.<\/p>\n

Reconstruction of the museum is planned for 2015.<\/p>\n

In 2015, the museum is scheduled to close for a two-year renovation, during which the fa\u00e7ade of the building, which was ranked eighth in the Reuters list of the world's ugliest buildings, will be updated. The building of the Cultural Centre, built on the site of the old railway station, is one of the most unusual and eye-catching sights. The centre was opened by Prince Charles and Princess Diana. The centre has a concert hall with 2,085 seats, a large hall of the Grand Theatre with 1,750 seats, a theatre studio hall, and rehearsal rooms.<\/p>\n
