And in 1991, the museum was moved closer to the Cultural Center. Hong Kong's largest and best art museum finally has its own building, and its name is now The Hong Kong Museum of Art.

The museum has 6 halls on three floors. It houses a unique collection of antiquities and modern art, works of art by Chinese masters and old photographs.

Reconstruction of the museum is planned for 2015.

Here's what the wiki says about the reconstruction:

In 2015, the museum is scheduled to close for a two-year renovation, during which the façade of the building, which was ranked eighth in the Reuters list of the world's ugliest buildings, will be updated. In addition, two new exhibition halls and a new floor are planned, as the museum is experiencing a serious shortage of exhibition space. The structural problems that have accumulated over the years of the building's operation are also taken into account in the renovation plan. During the construction work, the museum administration plans to hold a traveling exhibition of exhibits in foreign museums.

We were unlucky with the time of the visit, it was a day off. But there were also some pretty funny art objects in the open air.

You can take a photo.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think it's a space museum.

This object, it seems to me, is Hong Kong.

The building of the Cultural Centre, built on the site of the old railway station, is one of the most unusual and eye-catching sights.
