A new nature reserve has opened in northern Spain: Ponga Natural Park, located in the south of the province of Asturias. The corresponding decision was made by the International Coordinating Council for the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme, which deals with environmental issues.<\/p>\n

The new Ponga National Park is located on the mountain spurs of the Cantabrian Mountains at an altitude of 213 to 2,142 meters. The park's forests are home to a variety of animal species, including endangered species such as the brown bear, black grouse, Eurasian wolf, and golden eagle. The park offers trekking trails and designated campsites.<\/p>\n
