Compared to last year&#039;s figures, tourist flow has increased by 51,300, according to Svetlana Zenovskaya, Deputy Minister of Culture for Tourism Development in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/e8e2e8cf6c3b0d4f3949052a627f662b.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cAccording to estimates, in 2018 <!--more-->The region was visited by approximately 400,000 tourists: an increase of 51,000, with a trend toward an increase in the share of independent tourists,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>\nShe also said that the majority of tourists come from Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also from Tyumen, Novosibirsk, and the Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda, Yaroslavl, and Murmansk regions.<\/p>\n<p>\nAccording to her, tourists from more than 40 countries stayed in hotels and inns, the majority, of course, from European countries, TASS reports.<\/p>\n<p>\n&quot;In the first nine months of 2018, the number of foreign tourists increased by 400 compared to the same period in 2017, and the forecast for the year is 9,000. According to tour operators in the region, foreign visitors are increasingly interested in northern villages. This year, international tourists purchased tours that included visits to villages in the Primorsky districts\u2014Pustosh and Voznesenye\u2014and the Kholmogorsky districts.
