The civil liability of tour operators ZAO Akris-Intourist and ZAO Akris Travel for failure to fulfill or improper fulfillment of obligations under the contract for the sale of a tourist product was insured by Liberty Insurance (AO). The insurer acknowledged the occurrence of the tour operator&#039;s liability and made insurance payments to the affected tourists.<\/p>\n<p>\nOn July 4, 2017, a court ruling came into force to terminate the criminal prosecution against Kourov, accused of committing 139 episodes of crimes under Part 1 of Article 159.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, which, according to the law, is not a rehabilitating circumstance.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cLiberty Insurance Company filed a recourse claim against Mr. Kourov as the head of tour operators, whose deliberate illegal actions caused property damage to the insurer and clients of the travel agencies he headed,\u201d the insurer\u2019s press service emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>\nThey also noted that since Kourov did not provide evidence proving his innocence, the Kalininsky District Court of Novosibirsk decided to collect 8.04 million rubles in compensation for property damage from him.
