Against this backdrop, the Russian Association of Air Transport Operators (RAETO) sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov, in which <!--more-->called for a number of benefits to be provided to carriers. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/6918d1fff1ebfd90a85aa0be0b2d569a.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nAccording to Kommersant, the increase in transportation tariffs, according to the letter&#039;s authors, is primarily due to rising prices for fuel, airport services, and air navigation services.<\/p>\n<p>\n&quot;The combination of these negative factors led to a sharp (more than tenfold for some airlines) decline in financial performance and losses,&quot; the letter states.<\/p>\n<p>\nIt also notes that due to the current situation, airlines have been forced to take &quot;unpopular&quot; measures. For example, some carriers have suspended modernization and upgrades of their fleets and ground facilities.
