Aeroflot Airlines announced a disruption to the core services of its Aeroflot Bonus loyalty program for several days this week. The carrier attributed the disruption to a technical update to the program's platform, according to a Travel.ru correspondent.<\/p>\n

Within 14 hours from 22.From Tuesday, May 21st, until 12:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22nd, program member personal account services will be unavailable. Miles cannot be accrued or used. Additionally, mileage accrual will not be available for two and a half days, from 10:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21st, until 10:00 AM, Friday, May 24th. Miles accrued during this period will be credited to member accounts later, after the work is completed. <\/p>\n

Passengers who may require any of these services during the downtime are advised to complete their required operations before 10:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, if possible. Aeroflot has not announced whether the platform update will result in any program changes for participants. <\/p>\n

As a reminder, the benefits of Aeroflot Bonus for members have drastically diminished over the past year due to constant increases in so-called "fuel surcharges." Now, almost any award ticket under the program requires, in addition to a substantial number of miles, a hefty fee\u2014making such tickets to many destinations simply pointless.<\/p>\n
