According to preliminary reports, the incident was caused by captain error.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/15d724325fa70a065cd661c91e397e76.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nAs it became known, there were 125 people on board the ship <!--more-->People, including four crew members, were rescued. According to TASS, the rescue operation took approximately four hours. No one was injured in the incident, but a leak developed in the vessel&#039;s technical compartment.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Karelian transport prosecutor&#039;s office, for its part, reported that the possible cause of the incident with the Sapphire tourist vessel was captain error.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cPresumably, [the reason] is the captain\u2019s error and insufficient consideration of drift and current during low tide,\u201d the department explained.<\/p>\n<p>\nAgainst this backdrop, the Murmansk Transport Investigation Department, together with the Petrozavodsk Linear Transport Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, have launched an investigation.
