Russian Railways is running a short-term discount on non-refundable upper-berth tickets on select double-decker trains. Tickets are on sale until January 16 for travel through March 31 (except for February 21-24 and March 6-9), reports Travel.ru.<\/p>\n

Available fares from Moscow: St. Petersburg - 1,399 rubles, Kazan - 1,299 rubles, Samara, Izhevsk, and Petrozavodsk - 1,499 rubles, Penza - 1,199 rubles, Kislovodsk - 1,999 rubles, Mineralnye Vody - 1,790 rubles, and Sochi - 2,199 rubles. Fares from St. Petersburg: Ryazan - 1,539 rubles, Voronezh - 1,593 rubles, Rostov - 1,953 rubles, Kavkazskaya (Kropotkin) - 2,195 rubles, and Sochi - 2,233 rubles. Tickets from Sochi to Voronezh cost 1,593 rubles, and to Ryazan - 1,903 rubles. A number of other connections are also available within these routes.<\/p>\n

It should be kept in mind that in many cases, a refundable ticket will only be slightly more expensive than a non-refundable one (but you must select the refundable "full" fare yourself on the passenger details page; its actual cost will only be displayed on the next page).<\/p>\n

If a shorter route is more expensive, you should purchase a ticket for the longer route that includes it. It's also worth keeping in mind that due to repairs in the Krasnodar Krai, travel times to Sochi and Tuapse have been increased by 1-3 hours. Furthermore, these cities have almost completely lost their rail connection with their regional capital, Krasnodar.<\/p>\n
