Russian Railways is running a short-term discount on non-refundable upper-berth tickets on select double-decker trains. Tickets are on sale until March 31 for trips up to that date (except for the periods February 21-24 and March 6-9), reports Travel.ru.<\/p>\n

Available fares from Moscow: St. Petersburg - 1,399 rubles; Kazan - 1,299; Samara, Izhevsk, and Petrozavodsk - 1,499; Penza - 1,199; Kislovodsk and Mineralnye Vody - 1,790; Sochi - 2,199. Fares from St. Petersburg: Ryazan - 1,499; Voronezh - 1,799; Rostov - 2,249; Kavkazskaya (Kropotkin) - 2,381; Sochi - 2,599 rubles. Tickets from Sochi to Voronezh are sold for 1,799 rubles, and to Ryazan for 2,456 rubles. A number of other connections are also available on these routes.<\/p>\n

It should be kept in mind that in many cases, a refundable ticket will only be slightly more expensive than a non-refundable one (but you must select the refundable "full" fare yourself on the passenger details page; its actual cost will only be displayed on the next page).<\/p>\n

If a shorter route is more expensive, you should purchase a ticket for the longer route that includes it. It's also worth keeping in mind that due to road repairs in the Krasnodar Krai, travel times to Sochi and Tuapse have been increased by 1-3 hours. Furthermore, these cities have almost completely lost rail connections with their regional capital, Krasnodar.<\/p>\n
