Dubai Airport announced the trial launch of an in-flight entertainment system for passengers. It operates similarly to similar wireless systems on board many airlines, reports Aviablogger.com.
As is well known, most passengers use Dubai Airport as a transit point, transferring from one Emirates or flydubai flight to another. They typically spend several hours at the airport, and many are at a loss for what to do. Now, the airport has decided to offer them entertainment similar to that available on planes: movies, TV series, and shows.
To connect, select the airport's free Wi-Fi network on your laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. It's called DXB Free WiFi. You can then select your desired movies or shows. Currently, they are available in English, French, and Arabic.
The trial period will last two months, until the end of October. During this time, all content in the entertainment system is free to access. Once the trials are complete, a decision will be made on whether to launch this service permanently. Whether it will be a paid service remains to be seen.
