Russian Railways has introduced a discount for teenagers aged 10 to 17 during the spring break. Compartment tickets for these teenagers will be sold at a discount of 50% for departures from March 23 to April 1, according to Travel.ru.
Tickets are available both at the box office and on the Russian Railways website. The discount will be granted if you provide a date of birth between 10 and 17 years of age (this will need to be confirmed upon boarding the train with a passport or birth certificate). The discount may not apply to so-called "services" (compulsory meals, newspapers, etc.), and the final savings on trains or carriages may be less than 50%.
The discount is only available on Russian Railways trains traveling within the country and does not apply to trains operated by foreign railways or third-party carriers. It also does not apply to train #146/145 Moscow-Nazran. As a reminder, the permanent discount for schoolchildren is only available in reserved seat carriages.
