Eldar Ryazanov Museum Opens in Samara

On May 19, a museum dedicated to the famous director Eldar Ryazanov, who was born in this city, will open in Samara. It is located at 120 Frunze St. — this is the house where the Ryazanov family lived. There is now a monument to the director in front of the house.

As TASS reports, the central place in the museum's exposition is occupied by the director's family memorial room, filled with objects that convey the atmosphere of the time when Ryazanov lived here. Visitors will be able to see authentic things of the Ryazanov family, flip through the pages of a real school album from the 1940s on a virtual screen, and use an old telephone to hear the voice of their favorite director.

It is planned that later on the second floor of the building there will be an exhibition dedicated to Ryazanov's work as a director, writer, poet and host of "Kinopanorama". On the third floor of the museum there will be a cinema hall with 100 seats, where films of the beloved director will be shown. The creators of the museum plan to reconstruct the interiors and situations from popular comedies of Eldar Ryazanov: visitors will be able to get into the apartment where the action of the film "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!" took place, engage in fencing with the characters of the film "Beware of the Car" or visit the trailer from "Promised Heaven".
