Starting today, hotels, resorts, and boarding houses in the Krasnodar Territory began charging tourists a resort fee of 10 rubles per person per day. Payment is due upon check-in.
According to Interfax, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev stated that this is the "minimum threshold" for the fee. Residents of Kuban are exempt from paying the resort fee, as are nineteen privileged categories of citizens.
All proceeds from vacationers will be donated to municipal budgets for the development of resort infrastructure, including the improvement of beaches, parks, and squares, as well as landscaping. Revenues are expected to reach approximately 70 million rubles in 2018.
