All beaches in Phuket have been closed to swimming.

Due to a crocodile discovered off the coast of Phuket, swimming has been banned at all beaches on the island. Authorities do not intend to lift the ban until the crocodile is captured.

The elusive reptile has been successfully hiding from rescuers, fishermen, and the military for several days. Coastal areas are patrolled, and tourists are warned of the dangers of swimming with red flags placed on beaches. Some vacationers ignore the ban, risking encounters with dangerous animals in the water, reports Thailand News.

The crocodile was first spotted on Rawai Beach, but since then it has been moving along the coast and has appeared at several beaches. It was last seen at Tri Trang Beach. According to scientists, saltwater crocodiles have not been seen on the Andaman Sea coast for several decades.

Authorities have inspected all five crocodile farms on the island, but none of them have reported missing crocodiles. Officials are currently preparing an order to urgently register all crocodiles kept by private individuals.

Let us remind you that Aeroflot intends to increase the number of flights from Moscow to Phuket in winter.
