Lufthansa will fly more frequently from Munich to Moscow.

Lufthansa plans to resume a third daily flight from Munich to Moscow. The route, cancelled several years ago due to the economic crisis in Russia, will be reinstated on October 28, according to Travel.ru.

Early morning departures from Munich and afternoon departures from Moscow will resume. Starting October 28, departures from Munich will be at 7:35, 11:05, and 20:30, arriving in Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) at 12:40, 16:10, and 1:35, respectively. Return departures will be at 9:00, 13:30, and 17:05, arriving in Munich at 10:25, 14:55, and 18:30. These three flights are planned to be retained for next year's summer schedule.

The flight departing from Munich at 11:05 AM and from Moscow at 5:05 PM will be operated by an Airbus A320, while the remaining flights will be operated by the smaller Airbus A319. Additionally, several additional flights will be scheduled and larger aircraft will be deployed during peak New Year's Eve dates. Lufthansa stated that demand for New Year's Eve flights to Munich last year jumped three and a half times compared to the winter of 2016/2017.

The lowest roundtrip fare found (on non-holiday dates) is 10,299 rubles, excluding baggage allowance, seat selection, and the option to change the ticket. With all these options, tickets start at 13,279 rubles.

Lufthansa has also decided to maintain a fourth flight between Frankfurt and Moscow for next winter, which was typically cancelled in previous winters. Unfortunately, all four flights are still crammed into just seven (!) hours of the 24 available per day for departures from Frankfurt (departures at 10:45, 12:20, 16:30, and 18:10) and ten hours for departures from Moscow (departures at 7:05, 9:05, 17:25, and 18:50), significantly limiting passengers' travel time options. The route is served by a balanced mix of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
