Sichuan Airlines is a regional airline headquartered in Chengdu, with a fleet of over 100 aircraft, ranging from long-haul to medium-haul.

Last Wednesday, the Chinese airline Sichuan Airlines launched a flight to Taiyuan (the capital of the northern Shanxi Province) - Chengdu (the capital of the southern province of Sichuan) - St. Petersburg. The route will operate continuously on A330 aircraft.
The airline currently operates flights from Chengdu to Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as from Harbin (the capital of the northern province of Heilongjiang) to Vladivostok.
With 2018–2019 declared the years of regional cooperation between Russia and China, Sichuan Airlines believes the launched flight will help expand cultural exchanges, trade and economic contacts, and deepen investment cooperation between the northern capital of Shanxi Province and Russia.
It's worth noting that airline representative Hao Zheng stated in a statement that Sichuan Airlines is currently in talks with the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) to expand its routes and make flights more frequent, and is also discussing opening a Chengdu-Irkutsk route, RIA Novosti reports.
