Tourists who suffered from tour operators DSBW-Tours and Natalie-Tours will be paid all the funds accumulated by the tour operators in Personal Responsibility Fund (PRF), said Yuri Barzykin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI).
Yuri Barzykin noted that the "Turpomoshch" fund will be opened for the first time and used to pay compensation to tourists from DSBW-Tours, Natalie-Tours, and Intravel Stoleshniki. Payments will begin in December of this year and January of next year, TASS reports.
"Payments will begin in December for both Intravel Stoleshniki and DSBW-Tours. It's safe to say that absolutely every penny of the funds accumulated by these operators in their personal liability funds will be paid out to tourists," he explained.
He also added that compensation payments from Turpomoshch would also be made to Natalie Tours. However, he noted that if compensation payments exceeding 80% were made to DSBW-Tours and Intravel Stoleshniki clients, Natalie Tours clients would receive a smaller amount.
As a reminder, several major tour operators and booking centers announced their suspension of operations this year: DSBW-Tours, Natalie Tours, Intravel Stoleshniki, Raduga Travel, and Danko.
