Security tax in Turkey will not affect Russian tourists

The security tax in Turkey will not affect Russian tourists after all: as it became known, travelers will not be charged 1.5 euros at the airports of Istanbul, Antalya, Alanya, Milas-Bodrum, Ankara and Izmir.

Let us recall that the day before, Turkish media reported that from January 1, 2019, Türkiye will introduce a security tax for tourists in the amount of 1.5 euros per person, which will be collected at the airport.

However, as it turned out, the innovation will only affect those airports that are under the jurisdiction of the Main Directorate of Airports of the Republic (DHMI). They emphasized that the air harbors where the vast majority of Russian travelers arrive are serviced by the TAV operator, so the innovation will not affect them.

In turn, tourists arriving in Turkey through the airports of Adana, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Trabzon, Hatay, Erzurum, Agri, Adiyaman, Amasya, Balikesir, Batman, Bursa, Canakkale, Denizli and others will have to pay a security tax.
