
Nearly 7 million tourists visited Crimea in 2018. According to Vladimir Konstantinov, head of the Crimean parliament, this is a record since the Soviet era, according to the portal "Kryma News."
According to data as of December 21, 2018, the Republic of Crimea was visited by about 6.7 million tourists. This figure exceeds last year's by 20%. In 2014, there were 76% fewer tourists.
According to the State Council Committee on Health Resorts and Tourism, representatives from 132 countries across five continents visited Crimean resorts. The South Coast was the most popular, welcoming 441,000 tourists. The West Coast welcomed 24.61,000 tourists, the East Coast nearly 201,000, and other regions saw just over 121,000 tourists. Vladimir Konstantinov, the head of the Crimean Parliament, stated that the number of tourists this year reached a record high since the Soviet era.
The official also reported that German citizens were the most likely to book accommodation on the peninsula for the New Year holidays. A total of 150,000 tourists are expected in Crimea for the New Year.
New Year's holiday tours to Crimea start at 18,520 rubles for two. This price includes flights from Moscow and 7-night accommodation in a 3-star hotel, including meals. Four-star hotels start at 37,009 rubles.
