From January to March this year, the number of Russian tourists visiting Indonesia showed a 16%th increase compared to the same period last year. This was reported to the TRN portal by the republic's tourism office in Russia (VITO Russia).
"From January to March 2019 Indonesia 46,365 Russian tourists visited. In 2018, during this period, there were 39,914. Thus, our growth is 16,16%,” the department said.
They also noted that the bulk of Russian tourist flow traditionally goes to the island of Bali - 41,752 people in January-March 2019, the next most popular locations are Jakarta (about 2.5 thousand people), the islands of Batam and Bintan (slightly less than a thousand people).
Overall, during this period, Indonesia received 3,815,283 foreign tourists.
Let us recall that last year the country was visited by more than 125 thousand Russian travelers, which is 7% more than the figures for 2017. Moreover, thanks to our compatriots, Russia turned out to be the first in terms of growth rates among all European markets.
