European low-cost airline Wizzair plans to launch flights from Budapest to Kazan this fall. These flights will operate twice a week, starting October 30, on Wednesdays and Sundays, according to Travel.ru's own correspondent.
Departure from Budapest at 17:15, arrival in Kazan at 22:40. The return flight departs at 11:15 PM, arriving in Budapest at 12:40 AM. An Airbus A320 aircraft will be used on this route.
The minimum one-way fare, available on select flights for a limited time, is €30. Fares on most other flights start at €50. This price includes only a small carry-on bag no larger than 40 x 30 x 20 centimeters. Additional carry-on baggage, checked baggage, seat selection, in-flight meals, and airport check-in instead of online check-in are paid services.
All of these services can be purchased as a package (the Go fare) for €38 (€46 during peak periods) in addition to the base ticket price. Individually, these services currently cost as follows: large carry-on baggage (55 x 40 x 23 centimeters, up to 10 kilograms) plus priority boarding - €10; 10 kilograms of checked baggage - €17; 20 kilograms - €25; airport check-in - €30 (online check-in is free). Keep in mind that adding baggage to an existing booking is more expensive, and at the airport, it's even more expensive. Furthermore, the price of checked baggage doubles during peak seasons (holidays and summer).
Passengers planning to fly Wizzair several times a year or in pairs may want to consider purchasing a Wizz Discount Club membership in advance for €29. Annual membership typically provides a €10 discount on each ticket, including one travel companion, and a €5 discount on baggage.
Until now, Wizzair has only flown to Moscow and St. Petersburg from Budapest and Debrecen. Wizzair is also considering flights to Moscow from St. Petersburg via London. However, it is unknown whether Russian authorities have yet approved these flights.
