Aeroflot has opened sales for its own Moscow-Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk flight

Aeroflot has begun selling tickets for its relaunched Moscow-Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk flight. For now, it's being sold at the company's standard fixed Far Eastern fares, according to Travel.ru.

The new flight will appear on the schedule from October 27. Departure from Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) is at 9:00 PM, arriving in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk at 1:25 PM. The return flight departs at 3:45 PM, arriving in Moscow at 4:55 PM. The flight will be operated by an Airbus A330. Fixed fares are currently in effect—15,000 rubles one-way and 25,000 rubles round-trip—although Aeroflot has announced the possibility of returning to regular flexible pricing on this flight. Business class fares start at an astronomical 133,951 rubles one-way and 191,602 rubles round-trip.

The Rossiya subsidiary's flight, which uses Aeroflot's historical schedule, will remain on its current schedule: departure from Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) at 4:25 p.m., arriving in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk at 8:45 a.m. Return departure at 11:45 a.m., arriving in Moscow at 12:35 p.m. It will operate a Boeing 777, with fixed fares in economy class starting at 13,200 rubles one-way and 22,000 rubles round-trip. Business class fares start at 88,451 rubles one-way and 126,502 rubles round-trip.

Tickets for both flights, as well as for all other Aeroflot Group routes from Moscow to the Far East, are currently only available until December 30-31. The lack of sales for next year is due to Aeroflot's undecided decision on whether it will continue to use fixed fares, or what their level will be if they are introduced.
