Russian travelers support introduction of open skies regime in St. Petersburg

96% Russian tourists surveyed during an online poll by the online travel service Biletix support the idea of introducing an open skies regime over St. Petersburg and do not share the concerns of Russian airlines about the possibility of increased financial risks for domestic carriers. Only 2% respondents expressed negative opinions regarding the plans to introduce the "open skies" regime. 2,890 people took part in the survey.

As the company told the TRN portal, Russian tourists are ready to take advantage of offers from foreign carriers at the first opportunity. Answering the question "When the "open skies" regime is introduced in St. Petersburg, will you take advantage of this opportunity to make a cheaper trip abroad with transit or direct departure via St. Petersburg?", 91% tourists answered positively, 3% - negatively, 6% - undecided.

Let us add that the open skies regime will allow any foreign airlines, including low-cost airlines, to fly to Pulkovo Airport, regardless of their country of registration and with any frequency. This step will allow low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, EasyJet and Norwegian to fly to Russia.
