Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Lyublino detained the director of a travel agency suspected of embezzlement.

"The police received a statement from a 40-year-old resident of the capital. The victim said that she had contacted the police earlier "She was hired by a travel agency employee to purchase a trip abroad. After signing the contract, she transferred the funds for the tour, but later learned that the tour operator she worked with had cancelled the trip due to non-payment. The damage amounted to over 270,000 rubles," the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow reported.
It is also noted that, as a result of operational investigative measures, criminal investigation officers established that the detainee, as the director of a travel agency, was supposed to transfer the applicant's money to the tour operator's account, but, taking advantage of her official position, she appropriated it and disposed of it at her own discretion.
"The Investigative Committee of the Lyublino District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has opened a criminal case under Article 160 of the Russian Criminal Code, 'Misappropriation or Embezzlement.'" The suspect has been placed under a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the area and to behave appropriately," the press service of the South-Eastern Administrative District Department of Internal Affairs added.
