"Phu Quoc's high-quality service and affordable prices attract tourists from all over the world. In the near future, Russian tourists will also put the island on par with Thai resorts," said a representative of tour operator Coral Travel.
He clarified that the tour operator announced O The island's package tours have been launched, with the first announcement of direct flights from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Irkutsk. Charter flights will begin in October, operated by Royal Flight.
As the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), citing tourism industry representatives, noted, Russian tourists will appreciate the offer of direct flights. Svetlana Oboyanskaya, director of OSA Tour, believes this product will be in high demand in Siberia.
Angela Galkina, director of the Meridian-Tour travel agency, also sees potential in the flight program if there isn't an oversupply of flights to Vietnam.
A 10-day tour with departure from Moscow starts at 37,000 rubles per person. The island boasts numerous high-quality hotels, including Marriott, Accor (Novotel), and Melia (Sol Beach).
Previously, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported that Russia remains sixth in tourist traffic to Vietnam. Tour operators note that Phan Thiet and Phu Quoc Island are the most popular resorts in the country among Russians. This coming winter, there is potential for growth in traffic to Phan Thiet as well, but the Russian market here may face competition from Chinese companies.
Experts said a more realistic option would be an increase in tourist flow to Phu Quoc, provided that direct flights from Russian regions are established on a regular basis.
Vietnam's largest island, Phu Quoc, is located in the Gulf of Thailand. An international airport was built there in December 2012. The island's resorts are popular with foreign tourists, offering clean and beautiful beaches, a relaxing holiday, and unspoiled nature.
