Airport workers in Italy went on strike on January 19.

Ground crews at several airports in Italy went on strike on January 19. This resulted in the cancellation or delay of a significant number of flights, reports Travel.ru.

Specifically, Aeroflot cancelled three of five flights from Moscow to Rome and back, two of five flights to Milan and back, and one of two flights to Venice and back. Furthermore, most of the remaining scheduled flights have been rescheduled for the evening.

National carrier Alitalia is experiencing fewer problems. The company has cancelled only a few dozen flights, all domestic. A number of other airlines are also expected to face cancellations and delays.
