Aeroflot will fly from Moscow to Makhachkala.

Aeroflot plans to launch flights from Moscow to Makhachkala this fall. Flights will operate twice daily starting October 28 on an Airbus A320, according to Travel.ru.

Departures from Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) at 8:25 and 15:50, arrivals in Makhachkala at 11:20 and 18:00.Return flights depart at 12:20 and 19:40, arriving in Moscow at 15:15 and 22:35. The minimum one-way ticket price is currently 4,028 rubles. It's unclear whether Rossiya Airlines, a subsidiary of the airline, will continue to operate flights to Makhachkala once a day from Vnukovo.

As a reminder, Aeroflot will launch flights to Nalchik, Grozny, Dublin, Ljubljana, Gothenburg, and Dubai's second airport on the same date. Aeroflot has so far avoided flying to the North Caucasus republics. It's expected that Vladikavkaz and Nazran may also be added to its route network.

Let us recall that soon passengers of all Russian airlines may lose the guarantees of free transportation of briefcases, handbags, backpacks, outerwear, as well as baby food, medicine, canes, crutches and other items necessary for medical reasons. This is the draft order of the Ministry of Transport, prepared after the appeal to the ministry by the airline Pobeda, which demanded that passengers be deprived of all these guarantees. If the draft is approved, carriers will be able to limit passengers to only 5 kilograms of hand luggage, and the permissible dimensions of such luggage will be determined by the airlines themselves (Pobeda itself already uses a tiny “calibrator” measuring 36x30x27 centimeters for this, in which it is impossible to place many ordinary small city bags, as well as some mobile electronics - for example, some laptops).
