Aeroflot has extended its discount on Moscow-Helsinki flights.

Aeroflot has extended its discounted fare for flights from Moscow to Helsinki. Round-trip tickets start at 9,476 rubles, according to Travel.ru.

Tickets are on sale until September 20, and departure is possible until March 24. Ticket returns are not permitted, and fees are non-refundable. Exchanges are possible for a €100 fee and a surcharge up to the current fare. As a reminder, Aeroflot will increase the number of flights to Helsinki starting October 29.

This fare is a response to Finnair's promotion, which offers a similar price throughout the entire sales period until mid-next year. Tickets start at 9,848 rubles on Finnair's website, but agents offer the same tickets for significantly less. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, and the fare includes 23 kilograms of baggage allowance.

When purchasing any tickets on Aeroflot's website (as with almost all other Russian carriers), keep in mind that the airline includes insurance by default. This practice, prohibited in the European Union, can result in a loss of 300 rubles on each ticket. To avoid falling victim to this insurance scam, in most cases you should uncheck the insurance option (for Aeroflot, it's located on the payment and credit card entry page).

If a passenger has nevertheless fallen into a trap and paid for unnecessary insurance, it can still be cancelled. In this case, before the start of the flight, you should notify the airline about the cancellation of the insurance service and demand a refund for the insurance.
