Aeroflot is holding a sale of premium tickets on 17 routes and is not charging fees

Aeroflot Airlines is running a short discount promotion on the sale of Aeroflot Bonus premium tickets on selected routes. On a number of domestic routes, award tickets will require approximately one-third fewer miles than usual, and the airline will not charge any fees, reports Travel.ru's own correspondent.

In particular, a roundtrip ticket in economy class from Moscow to Yekaterinburg and Tyumen can be purchased for 14,990 miles (in business class - 21,990), to Chelyabinsk - for 17,990 (29,990), to Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, Barnaul, Kemerovo and Abakan - for 21,990 (37,990) miles. Roundtrip tickets from St. Petersburg to Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Samara cost 14,990 miles (in business class - 21,990), to Surgut - 17,990 (29,990), to Novosibirsk, Omsk and Krasnoyarsk - for 21,990 (37,990) miles.

The promotion applies only to direct flights of Aeroflot or Rossiya. Discounts on premium tickets are valid until July 21 only on the company's website, flights on them are possible from June 22 to October 22. The minimum stay at the destination is 24 hours, the maximum is one month. Return of miles to the account and exchange of tickets is not allowed, fees are also not refunded. The ticket includes checked baggage.

Passengers intending to take advantage of this offer should be aware that there is still a significant possibility of changes to the announced schedule due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. Some of the planned flights may be cancelled - in this case, it will be possible to move the departure to one of the remaining flights in the schedule or return miles to the account.

This is the first time in the history of the Light Award promotion that it covers not only the basic fare, but also fees (usually more than 4,000 rubles round trip), and the passenger does not have to pay any money at all - only miles are required. This also applies to business class flights. In addition, instead of the usual three months, the promotion covers five at once, and you can fly in just a few days. Obviously, the reason is the low demand for regular air tickets during the epidemic and the airline's desire to somehow fill the cabins of the planes.

When buying any tickets on the Aeroflot website (as well as almost all other Russian carriers), you should keep in mind that the airline may include insurance in the ticket by default. This practice, prohibited in the EU countries, can lead to a loss of 400 rubles on each ticket. To avoid becoming a victim of an insurance trick, in most cases you need to click on the "in order" field on the insurance services selection page during the ticket booking process.

If a passenger has nevertheless fallen into a trap and paid for unnecessary insurance, it can still be cancelled. In this case, before the start of the flight, you should notify the airline about the cancellation of the insurance service and demand a refund for the insurance.
