Aeroflot has introduced a discount on premium tickets on certain routes.

Aeroflot Airlines is running a short discount promotion on the sale of Aeroflot Bonus premium tickets on selected routes. On several routes, award tickets will require approximately a third fewer miles than usual (but much more money than previously), reports Travel.ru's own correspondent.

In particular, a round-trip economy class ticket from Moscow to Krasnodar costs 15,000 miles (22,000 in business class), to Sochi, Nizhnevartovsk, and Novy Urengoy costs 18,000 (30,000), to Rome and Milan 22,000 (38,000), to Dubai 30,000 (45,000), and to Bangkok and Phuket 60,000 (90,000). A flight from St. Petersburg to Rostov-on-Don costs 15,000 (22,000), to Vienna 18,000 (30,000), to Novosibirsk 22,000 (38,000), and to Larnaca 30,000 (60,000). You will also need to pay fees, which have recently been significantly increased. Now, in economy class on direct routes within Russia, they typically cost over 4,500 rubles, on short international flights, they are typically around 9,000-12,000 rubles (several times less to the CIS countries), and on long-haul flights, they cost 15,000-20,000 rubles. On connecting flights, fees are significantly higher, and in business class they are almost twice as high as regular fees on the same route.

Therefore, in all cases, before purchasing an award ticket, you should check the cash price of a similar ticket. It's possible that its cost will be close to the premium, making the latter simply pointless. In general, Aeroflot award tickets on most routes now only make sense during periods of high demand, when regular tickets are very expensive.

Discounts on award tickets are valid until August 19th only on the company's website; flights are available from September 15th to December 15th. The minimum stay at the destination is 24 hours, and the maximum is one month. Mileage refunds, ticket exchanges, and fees are non-refundable.

When buying any tickets on the Aeroflot website (as well as almost all other Russian carriers), you should keep in mind that the airline may include insurance in the ticket by default. This practice, prohibited in the EU countries, can lead to a loss of 400 rubles on each ticket. To avoid becoming a victim of an insurance trick, in most cases you need to click on the "in order" field on the insurance services selection page during the ticket booking process.

If a passenger has nevertheless fallen into a trap and paid for unnecessary insurance, it can still be cancelled. In this case, before the start of the flight, you should notify the airline about the cancellation of the insurance service and demand a refund for the insurance.

Let us recall that soon passengers of all Russian airlines may lose the guarantees of free transportation of briefcases, handbags, backpacks, outerwear, as well as baby food, medicine, canes, crutches and other items necessary for medical reasons. This is the draft order of the Ministry of Transport, prepared after the appeal to the ministry by the airline Pobeda, which demanded that passengers be deprived of all these guarantees. If the draft is approved, carriers will be able to limit passengers to only 5 kilograms of hand luggage, and the permissible dimensions of such luggage will be determined by the airlines themselves (Pobeda itself already uses a tiny “calibrator” measuring 36x30x27 centimeters for this, in which it is impossible to place many ordinary small city bags, as well as some mobile electronics - for example, some laptops).
