Simferopol Airport Records Record Passenger Flow

In October of this year, Simferopol Airport's passenger traffic totaled 326,332 people, which is 4% more than in the same period in 2017, when the airport handled 312,946 people. This was reported to the TRN portal by press service air harbor.

Additionally, the airport's press service reported that 143,934 passengers were handled in arrivals in October (61% more than last year, when the airport handled 135,466 passengers). 182,398 passengers were handled in departures during this period (31% more than in October 2017, when the airport handled 177,480 passengers).

The number of takeoff and landing operations in October was 1,337, which is 10% more than in 2017 (1,220).

In October, the top three airlines by passenger volume were Aeroflot, Globus, and Ural Airlines. Together, they carried 215,207 passengers. Aeroflot, however, led the way in terms of passenger volume, carrying 83,920 passengers.

As a reminder, nine airlines operate flights to Simferopol on 15 routes during the fall/winter flight schedule. During the same period in 2017, eight airlines operated flights to Crimea on 10 routes.

Also, with the start of the Simferopol airport's autumn-winter flight schedule, tour operator Biblio-Globus launched a charter program to Crimea from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Compared to last year's winter schedule, direct flights to Izhevsk, Voronezh, and Samara, as well as transit flights to Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, Omsk, and Tyumen, have been opened from Simferopol. Furthermore, the number of daily flights to Moscow has been increased to 20 per day.
