A strawberry festival will be held near Rome.

On June 2 and 3, the Italian city of Nemi, located 33 kilometers southeast of Rome, will host the traditional strawberry festival, Sagra delle Fragole. For many years, it has been combined with a flower festival to add a touch of color to the celebration.

During the festival, the town will be decorated with floral arrangements, their fragrance mingling with the sweet scent of strawberries. The celebration will begin with a contest for the most beautiful balcony, with many locals competing. Balconies adorned with a profusion of flowers attract photographers and tourists.

The festival program includes a strawberry fair, strawberry tastings, historical reenactments, traditional dances, musical performances, and master classes. City restaurants will offer visitors special festival menus, and gelaterias will offer special ice cream flavors. The festival will conclude on the evening of June 3 with a spectacular fireworks display, reports Travel.ru.
