Brussels Airlines intends to suspend flights from Brussels to Moscow for at least three months. The carrier will not serve this route from November 18 to February 22, according to Travel.ru.
Additionally, for the remainder of the winter schedule (until November 17 and from February 23 to March 28), the flight frequency has been reduced from daily to four times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departure from Brussels is at 10:30 a.m., and from Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) at 4:45 p.m. The route will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft. Daily flight frequency is expected to resume with the start of the summer schedule on March 29.
Passengers who purchased tickets for the cancelled Brussels Airlines flights will likely be relocated on flights operated by other Lufthansa Group airlines with transfers in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. However, their departure airport in Moscow will change: Brussels Airlines moved to Sheremetyevo Airport this summer, while Lufthansa, SWISS, and Austrian will remain at Domodedovo Airport. It is unknown whether Brussels Airlines will offer passengers the option to fly direct Aeroflot flights to Brussels from Sheremetyevo. Passengers also have the option to cancel their tickets for cancelled flights without penalty.
