The Chinese province of Guizhou is located in the mountainous southwest of the country. The province attracts travelers with its nature, culture, and history.
When in Guizhou, tourists should visit the 74-meter-high Huangguoshu Waterfall, the Palace Cave System dragon with underground rivers and lakes, Zhijin Cave with karst formations and the ancient city of Qingyan with a 14th-century fortress.
Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou Province.
The capital is ideal for those interested in ecotourism. The city is rich in bioresources, beautiful nature, and forests 1 km wide and 70 m long.
Qianling Park
Qianling Park is the largest park in China, located in the southeastern part of Guizhou. The park boasts pristine lakes, ponds, hills, temples, and numerous historical monuments. Ancient hieroglyphs can be seen on the rocks—the largest, 6.2 meters high and 2.7 meters wide, was inscribed in 1860.
Huangguoshu Waterfalls
The Huangguoshu Falls, which translates as "yellow fruit tree," are located on the Baishui River. They reach a height of 74 meters and a width of 81 meters. These waterfalls are the largest in Asia, forming a deep karst canyon. It contains 18 waterfalls, four underground rivers, and numerous caves, but not all are accessible to tourists. In the center of the waterfall is the karst cave "Behind the Water Curtain," 134 meters long.
Red Maple Lake (Hongyehu)
In addition to the beautiful and large waterfalls, 132 km from Guizhou lies the famous Red Maple Lake, which covers an area of 57.2 square kilometers and has a depth of 10 to 100 meters.
Zhijin Caves
The Zhijin Grottoes are located 150 km from the capital, covering an area of 700,000 square kilometers. The caves stretch for 13 km. Currently, tourists can visit 47 of them.
As a reminder, on November 4, 2019, Royal Flight resumed regular flights from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Guiyang, the capital of China's Guizhou Province.
