Ethiopian Airlines will remove its Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Moscow.

Ethiopian Airlines continues to entertain the public as they follow the reopening of their Addis Ababa to Moscow flights. The carrier has made its sixth schedule change to the flights, which launched on December 17. This time, Ethiopian Airlines has switched from the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to the much smaller and less comfortable Boeing 737 MAX 8, reports Travel.ru.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is now scheduled for the vast majority of flights, including all departures from mid-January to the end of March (tickets for later months are not yet available). In fact, aside from the inaugural flight, only some New Year's Eve departures will be operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

This is at least the seventh iteration of flights on this route. First, the carrier reduced the planned flight frequency: instead of the originally planned four times a week, only three were scheduled. Then, the route's opening was moved from November 15th to December 5th. Just over a month ago, the arrival airport in Moscow changed (from Sheremetyevo to Domodedovo), and departure and arrival times were shifted by 1-2 hours. A week ago, the stopover in Istanbul disappeared, and arrival and departure times in Moscow were changed again. Then, the flight launch date was shifted again—to December 17th (from Moscow to December 18th). Now, the aircraft type has been changed. Moreover, passengers who have purchased tickets claim on social media that no one has notified them of any of these fluctuations.

The flight schedule remains unchanged: departure from Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:45 p.m., arriving in Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) at 7:15 a.m. Return flights depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10:55 p.m., arriving in Addis Ababa at 6:25 a.m. Travel time is seven and a half hours. The minimum fare is 37,160 rubles roundtrip.

Russian citizens can obtain a visa to Ethiopia upon arrival. Furthermore, as of June 1, Ethiopia introduced online visa application in advance for citizens of all countries (this costs more than at the airport).
